Presentation Titles: Global Wheat Market Outlook, Canola and Pulse Market Outlook
Marlene has been actively involved the agriculture industry in Canada since 1983. She holds a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics, and traded and exported Canadian commodities (including pulses) internationally for 20 years while working for Cargill Grain, XCAN Grain Ltd, and leading Berdex Canada Ltd.
In 2003, Marlene co-founded Mercantile Consulting Venture with Anthony P. Temple, who she had worked with at Cargill. (Anthony served as VP of the Cargill Trading Group in Brazil and as VP and GM of LDC Canada Ltd). Mercantile is a professional services company specializing in private label market intelligence, risk management solutions, and project consulting. Blake Brownridge
Presentation Title: Economics and Advantages of Grain Corn – A grower perspective, where we are now and where this can go!
Blake Brownridge grew up at Kisbey, his family was actively involved in the custom harvest run from Texas to Saskatchewan. Upon graduating from Arcola, Blake worked extensively in the US and Canada managing their custom harvesting business. In 2008, after getting married and having their first child he started farming at Arcola.
His crop rotations always included sunflowers based on his experience in the US. In 2012, he grew his first grain corn crop and has continued every year. He has learned lots about this amazing crop which he has continued to grow because of his beliefs in the crop, agronomics, yield potential and economics.
